I. DETERMINE AND MONITOR BUSINESS VALUE<\/span><\/strong>
> Formal look at the business
> Overview of transition risk
> Is business positioned for growth, maintain or declining revenues
> Overview of what is happening in the Industry and similar financial advice businesses<\/p>

\u00a0<\/p>

II. EVALUATION OF THE BUSINESS<\/span><\/strong>
\u2b9a \u201cAs nouns, the difference between valuation and evaluation is that valuation is an estimation of an object’s worth, while an evaluation is an assessment, such as an annual personnel performance review used as the basis for a salary increase or bonus, or a summary of a particular situation.\u201d
\u2b9a Evaluation allows for \u201cbookmarking\u201d comparing financials to similar businesses to identify if revenue and expenses are in line.
\u2b9a An evaluation is going to look at a business in relation to strengths and weaknesses
\u2b9a The business\u2019 structure and the business model is an important consideration when designing a succession plan
\u2b9a An evaluation is going to identify those value drivers that need improvement in order to adjust the business to be ready for a transition
\u2b9a The evaluation process is designed to create an action plan to prepare the business for a merger, a sale and\/or an exit strategy<\/p>


III. CREATE A SUCCESSION PLAN<\/span><\/strong>
\u2b9a Time frame
\u2b9a Define Owner\u2019s Lifestyle plan
\u2b9a Plan should be specific but flexible
\u2b9a Does the business need to be adjusted \u2013 corporate, partnership, associates, etc.
\u2b9a Define the Transition Strategy \u2013 minimize transition risk with clients \/ employees \/ etc.
\u2b9a Define the Financial Terms expected
\u2b9a Define the transfer ownership \u2013 in specific tranches, flexible over time or 100%
\u2b9a Exit Strategy<\/p>

IV. STRATEGIC BUSINESS PLAN<\/span><\/strong>
\u2b9a Based on the above \u2013 Strategies are defined
\u2b9a Tactical Plan is designed to accomplish the strategies
\u2b9a Monitor and Adjust program<\/p>


V. PROTECT THE BUSINESS<\/strong><\/span>
> Continuation Plan
